This is being posted because it seems that now that Nicky no longer has access to any trans or intersex spaces, he is trawling and trolling FAB spaces in order to spread his hatred. I post this now, because by tracking back the visitors to my site, I can see that they are now arriving via comments he has posted about me on a couple of pro-FAB sites.

Nicky states: “This twanz has a blog and attacked women and intersex people” – I don’t go around attacking intersex people, he attacks any intersex people who have gender dysphoria. I did attack Julie Bindel online once; I apologised after, and now we are friends. I have argued with, or critiqued, pro-FAB women, sometimes quite strongly, including Alice Dreger.
Nicky states “Mish is a transsexual who likes to think that trans people are intersex”.
This is also a false statement. I have never thought or stated that trans people are intersex. I have always maintained that transsexuality and intersex are different, and that transsexuality is not a form of intersex. I have received a lot of criticism from people in the trans community because of my view on this. I do not believe in things like ‘brain sex’ (and even if it ever were proven, it would still not mean trans was the same as intersex). My view is that some intersex people reject their original assignment, and transition, hence they are also ‘trans’ (in a broad sense), which means that some trans people are also intersex, because they have an intersex history. If I identify as anything, it would be something like “queer” or “nonconforming”. My view is that “queer” covers a lot of stuff, although I appreciate people like Jeffreys don’t think much of it. I’m free to think what I like.
The APA now acknowledges that intersex people do experience gender dysphoria, in their proposal that DSM-V includes a diagnosis for gender dysphoria in people with DSD’s, alongside the diagnosis for gender dysphoria for transsexuals and transgender people without a DSD. My main objection to this proposal is that I find the use of “disorder” problematic, which I have gone into elsewhere. I also feel it would be better if the gender dysphoria diagnosis, along with other things, was scrapped completely.
Nicky, on the other hand, believes that intersex and trans are mutually exclusive. Which is incorrect; no professional or expert working in the field would agree.
Zucker’s unpublished findings reported to a conference in Germany back in 2003 showed that between 6-7% of intersex people experience severe gender dysphoria associated with their birth assignment. That is way higher than the rest of the population. He has told me personally that he never intends to publish these findings, but acknowledges them. I could speculate why he does not publish, but I won’t.
Nicky insists he has an intersex condition called Kallmann’s. Yet he is the only person in the whole world who seems to think Kallmann’s is an intersex condition. People who are intersex don’t, people who have Kallmann’s don’t, and relevant experts don’t. It is not listed as a DSD. Some of the things Kallman’s can give rise to are listed under the DSD taxonomy in their own right – as they are under ISNA’s list of what is intersex – but not Kallmann’s. Nicky believes this so strongly, he has edited Wikipedia to reflect his belief – only to have this removed when vigilant editors have challenged it; it is challenged by asking for verification, such as any references that list Kallmann’s among the intersex conditions. Nicky has then threatened these editors if they won’t let him have his own way. I don’t know whether Nicky is intersex or not – but if he is, it is not on the basis of having been diagnosed with Kallmann’s. It would be on the basis of some things that could have happened to his male development, possibly connected with having Kallmann’s. He may have experienced some things which are very similar to what I experienced through childhood and adolescence as well, as the symptoms would be very similar. But, Nicky has decided to be the judge of who is and isn’t intersex, on the basis of his claim that Kallmann’s is intersex, and that this makes him ‘genuinely’ intersex, and other people not so. He is, in fact, doing precisely what he accuses others of doing (but hey, isn’t that always the way?).
Nicky has made some extremely hurtful, and at times hateful, remarks about trans people, such as supporting those who have murdered trans people, and threatening trans people with violence. Because of this, he has been barred from every trans group he has ever visited, and when he has tried to do this in any intersex group he has had contact with, he has been banned by them as well. He has also been barred because he threatens intersex people who will not accept that Kallmann’s is an intersex condition. he usually accuses intersex people who do not give into him that they are trans really, and thinks he is being banned because people are trans, when it is actually because of his incitement to hatred and threatening behaviour. I know of no people in intersex groups who transition who have ever tried to deny that aspect of their history. So why is he is ‘exposing’ people who have never made any secret of their past? It is because of his promotion of hatred against trans people generally, and those intersex people who have to deal with gender dysphoria.
I have to admit that I too find some stories incredible, and I am skeptical, but I am not really in any position to judge who is or isn’t intersex – or even what actually constitutes intersex. It all depends on how you define it, and for some it is broad, such as Anne Fausto-Sterling, ISNA, OII & members of the DSD committee – 1-2% of people with XY, XX or some other combination of chromosomes – for others it is narrow (Sax, but that is getting a bit long in the tooth, and nobody tries to argue for it being restricted just to people with mosaic these days).
So, given he has been sharing some of his views with people in Fab places such as those detailed above, I would point them to the information I covered already here:
And then consider some things about Nicky’s history.
The blogs mentioned in the post linked to above have been deleted since it was originally written in 2007, probably because one of them was deemed as a ‘hate-site’ by the host following complaints about it. Nothing of that blog survives anywhere apart from comments about it. But some of his personal blog was captured by the Wayback Internet Archive. These are references to his hate-speak, and the concern it produced, still littered around the web if you care to look – just search on the title of the blog listed above and you will find references in intersex groups like Bodies Our Ours (now moderated by one of the original members of ISNA) and trans groups like TransAdvocate.com. I have removed any links themselves, because with hindsight, I feel it was petty and mean of me to do drag up his past this way, do your own homework. A cursory search will soon illustrate that within the intersex community (not just the trans community) he is not usually tolerated, because of his behaviour.
OII had huge problems with Nicky, and had to ban him from our groups because of his incitement to hatred. As a result, he has been spreading a lot of misinformation about OII. Contrary to what Nicky says (and some who seem to have listened to him), OII is not a trans organisation pretending to be about intersex. One of the co-chairs of OII was an early member of ISNA, and is featured on the original “Hermaphrodites Speak” video, as well as Mani’s latest video described here. Of the five OII members/supporters included in Mani’s latest video, three were among the original active members of ISNA, and who joined OII after ISNA ceased, because it was the only intersex organisation in the world that stood up and opposed the use of ‘disorder’ in describing intersex at that time. I am no longer actively involved with OII myself. I am not sure what Nicky has done for intersex activism himself – but given that no intersex organisation I know of will have anything to do with him, my guess would be nothing. Yet he talks as if he is has some kind of involvement or authority within the intersex community. He does not.
I think Nicky is a sad and lonely person, who has experienced a lot of damage, and needs help. But, there is no way to reach out to him. People in OII tried really hard to include him, as have lots of intersex people. He has indicated on several occasions that he has severe problems with gender dysphoria and paraphilias, but rather than seeking help, he projects his own inner turmoil outward, and directs it on to those who do try to find ways of dealing with their dysphoria – such as trans people, and particularly people who transition and who have/claim intersex histories, or intersex people who reject their original assignment. I understand where he is coming from in questioning some people’s histories, because some of the stories you hear are incredible, but it is not his place to do so; We are not qualified to judge. Some do appear to be fabricated, or just plain ridiculous (and such stories have been around since the earliest days of ISNA, even amongst one or two of their founders). The kind of approach taken by Nicky is not the best approach, and we in OII could not collude with it.
This post was created only because this is what Nicky tends to do to other people, and it is so people can understand a bit about Nicky’s background, in his own words, before he became an ally of theirs. People can then make their own minds up about whether they want to give this guy as much credibility as they seem to.
What followed were some surviving extracts from his personal blog, yeilded from a quick search on the name of his blog in Wayback Machine, and which illustrated some things about him. I shared this because I think people needed to know how it made their sites look to people when they are drawn to their attention for some reason, and they find Nicky there doing what no other groups on the internet have been able to accommodate.
Nicky’s fetish, his view of women who are overweight, the internet attacks on him by non-trans/IS people because of his beahviour, his own weight issues, his lack of relationships with women, his conflicting diagnosistics and genitalia are gone into in some detail, how people with Kallmann’s syndrome won’t accommodate him, his unwillingness to accept specialist knowledge or assistance, how women who wear short skirts have only themselves to blame for being groped, his experience of cyberbullying, how what he hates is mostly about things he sees in others that he does himself, his theory about why women become lesbian and bisexual at college, how he is lesbian and bisexual, but people assume he is straight (his gender dysphoria), his diaper fetish, his desire for social acceptance of his cross-dressing, his obsession with trying to join quasi-military organisations, his lesbian sexual experiences, why women won’t won’t go out with him, his desire for ‘something’ warm in bed (preferably female), his internalised homophobia, and how just because he is bisexual, it doesn’t mean he’s a “faggot”, his masturbatory fantasies
Somebody provided me with a link today that sums things up about Nicky much better than I am able, and illustrates what one (real) man with Klinefelter’s thinks of him, and what the wiki editors thought of Nicky when he tried to bully them into taking the page down. It illustrates that you do not need to stalk Nicky to know what he is like – people are sick of hearing his crap. One of the disturbing things for some intersex people has been his eagerness to share his bizarre sexual fantasies and experiences; some intersex people have been left physically scarred and deeply traumatised by things that happened to them in childhood, and some face a future with no hope of ever achieving sexual satisfaction. Some of this stuff did not go down too well.
The links to the Encyclopedia Dramatica pages that were here have been removed, because some people didn’t like them, and that site wasn’t very nice really.
If you wonder why I post all this – it is because of the lies Nick has told about me (and others), the threats he has made, and the stalking he has done, which can all be witnessed in various places, including the blogs that will have led you here…
